IMPORTANT DATES:
- Application Deadline: Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at 11:59pm
- Continuing applicants will have an interview with DIAL staff between Monday, December 2nd and Wednesday, December 4th.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND EXPECTATIONS:
- Work an average of 6 hours each week
- Must co-facilitate at least 3 sessions
- Attend the required onboarding training on Saturday, January 25, 2025
- Participate in a 4-week training every Monday from 3:00 – 5:30pm starting January 27, 2025 to February 17, 2025
- Attend weekly staff meetings every Monday from 2:30 – 4:00pm from February 24, 2025 to April 28, 2025
- Sign up for, co-facilitate workshops, and complete all related tasks (preparing and planning with co-facilitator, uploading all workshop materials to DIAL Teams folder, print all handouts and materials needed for session, collect post-evaluations and attendance) starting week of March 3, 2025
- Attend bi-weekly one-on-one meetings with DIAL supervisor starting the week of March 3, 2025
- Peer educators are not expected to work during fall, winter, spring, or summer breaks, recognized school holidays, or final exam weeks
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be an enrolled undergraduate CSU student
- Hold and maintain good academic standing
- Effective communication skills
- Readiness to engage in dialogue with peers with different perspectives
- Flexibility to take initiative and work independently as well as work with a team and collaborate with peers
- Have several open blocks of time throughout the week to be available to lead requested workshops
- Commit, to best of ability, to work future academic semesters
